Hurricane Irma Deployment Update

As of October 2nd, the NCR-IMT members who were assigned to Monroe County, FL have completed their assignment. The team is currently enroute from Monroe County, FL to South Carolina where they will stay overnight before continuing the trip home early tomorrow morning.

During the deployment, the team assisted Monroe County with the following functions:

  • Human Services - shelter management, distribution of goods by non governmental organizations, points of distribution, etc.

  • Debris management

  • Logistical support - base camp management, accounting for and demobilization of equipment, resources, and supplies

  • Incident action planning, situational awareness/reporting, and resource accountability

  • Financial accountability and documentation

  • Safety Officer and Liaison Officer responsibilities

The team should be back in the National Capital Region tomorrow afternoon.
